About us
The International Association of Personal Protection Agents (IAPPA) was founded in the United States in 1989. The aim was to network and promote personal protection agents from different areas of operation worldwide. Since its foundation, the IAPPA has made a significant contribution to raising standards and professionalism in the field of personal protection. Since 2022, IAPPA has been part of the United International Security Associations.
By sharing ideas, conducting joint education and training initiatives and continuously improving training efforts, IAPPA members have helped to establish global standards for personal protection. To date, these efforts have helped to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of bodyguards worldwide.
Today, more than three decades after its founding, IAPPA is proud to boast a diverse and extensive membership. This prestigious group includes freelance bodyguards, corporate security professionals, military units, royal bodyguard teams, specialised military units, security academies and international security consultants.
